Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
This recently created role reports directly to the Group Finance Director and offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in future M&A transactions and broader corporate finance initiatives at Beca. No two days will be the same as you research and evaluate potential partners and competitors, lead financial modelling, prepare investment cases for approval, and collaborate with our network of trusted advisers.
A key part of your role will be to lead capital management strategy development for our employee owned business and supporting our ongoing search for M&A in the Australian market, helping to shape the pipeline of future opportunities. You’ll foster strong client relationships and contribute to the growth of our corporate finance capability, working in a flexible and encouraging environment that supports the development of your origination skills. Your strong technical skill set—including advanced financial modelling—will underpin your ability to deliver trusted advice and insights to clients.
Ultimately, you’ll play a key role in driving disciplined capital allocation across Beca, embedding best practices and contributing to the long-term success of our strategic initiatives.
Ko wai koe | About you
You’re a corporate finance professional with 5–7 years’ experience in a corporate finance role, possibly working in the Big 4, and looking to move to an in-house role where you will play a pivotal role supporting the growth of Beca. You bring a strong technical foundation, including advanced financial modelling capabilities, and advising on the day-to-day execution of corporate transactions. From reviewing Information Memorandums and conducting buy-side analysis, to delivering valuation advice and developing investment cases, you’re confident managing the full transaction lifecycle.
You thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and take a proactive, self-starting approach to your work. Your strong analytical and interpersonal skills enable you to build trusted relationships with partners, legal advisors, and internal stakeholders while consistently delivering professional excellence.
You value working in a flexible, encouraging environment that supports the growth of your corporate finance capabilities. You’re also a collaborative team player, known for your pragmatic problem-solving and creative thinking.
