OverviewPrincipal Commercial Manager – Construction / Infrastructure / Utilities at Transpower New Zealand.ResponsibilitiesProvide commercial expertise to support business operations and projects.Develop and implement procurement and commercial strategies.Negotiate contracts and resolve claims with suppliers.What you will bringWell-developed communication and relationship management skills with solid commercial and / or procurement experience, ideally in the electricity, utilities or construction sectors.Qualifications in Engineering, Business, Commerce, Law, or equivalent experience.Proven experience managing and developing supplier relationships and providing commercial advice at senior management level.Construction and delivery contracts expertise (e.g., NZS : 3910, NZS : 3916, FIDIC Yellow Book).

Experience negotiating complex, high-value contracts and disputes; mentoring and training others to lift organisational commercial acumen.Experience leading procurement processes, contracts, supplier relationships, projects, and programmes with large budgets ($10m+ per annum).

Experience with complex construction and delivery projects, outsourced service provider relationships, or OEM / integrator delivered design, supply and install solutions.Role contextWithin Transpower's Corporate Services Division, the Procurement Team provides a centre-led procurement function supporting enterprise-level outcomes from over $500 million of procurement spend per annum across 1600 suppliers.
