Painter

Position : Painter

Job duties :

• Discussing plans with relevant clients
• Read blueprints / instructions and examine surfaces to determine the kind and amount of work necessary
• Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding and ladders, covering fixtures etc.
• Selecting the appropriate painting materials for different sites
• Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting including cleaning, sanding and patching by removing old paint and wall paper, fixing holes and cracks, smoothing and sealing, etc.
• Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture
• Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
• Apply various paint finishes, including brush, rollers, spray application to interior and exterior surfaces
• Match paint samples for touch up
• Hanging wallpaper when required, trimming edges
• Tidying up and cleaning the tools, equipment and the work areas
• Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions, including working at heights
• Work effectively with other tradespeople on the construction site
• Any other duties the employer reasonably may require employee to perform

Pay rate : minimum $30.00 / hour   maximum $33.00 / hour

Guaranteed hours of work per week :   minimum of 30 hours per week
