These opportunities come from internal movement and require experience in supporting secondary students to gain either NCEA L2 or L3 in a tertiary environment and to provide a high level of student support and pastoral care within our Pathways and Transitions Team.Our Pathways and Transitions Team partners with students and enjoys a rewarding, fulfilling role where no two days are the same.

You will engage with whanau, school contacts, Ministry of Education agencies, and South Auckland community representatives to support your students\' pathways and future into employment or further education.ResponsibilitiesSupport secondary age students to gain NCEA Level 2 or Level 3 in a tertiary environment and provide high level student support and pastoral care within the Pathways and Transitions Team.Promote pathways at high schools and discuss academic support with students\' lecturers, collaborating with key stakeholders.Engage with whanau, school contacts, Ministry of Education agencies, and community representatives to support students\' pathways and future opportunities.Demonstrate initiative, maturity, and energy in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.To Be Successful You Will NeedExperience in supporting secondary age students, preferably in a tertiary environmentExperience with Maori and Pasifika students and their communitiesIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and ExcelHighly developed emotional intelligence and a collaborative approach to develop and maintain caring relationships with students and key stakeholdersAbility to think creatively, be a problem solver with attention to detailBenefitsWorking with a dynamic motivated teamOpportunities for professional development and career progressionHealth and wellbeing discounts such as gym membership and access to onsite campus services (library, cafés, floristry and hairdressing discounts)At Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) we are proud to be an equal opportunity employer.
