What You’ll Do

This pivotal leadership role sits at the heart of finance and strategy—partnering closely with the business unit CEO and executive team to deliver impactful commercial insights. You\'ll enjoy the challenge of shaping the business\' future profitability while leading and mentoring a small team.

This role partners with key stakeholders to ensure that they manage their financials but also help them understand other KPIs and wider drivers to help them make informed decisions, improve productivity, profitability, and the quality of service they provide to their customers. This is a mixed role so expect to get involved in day to day finance too as you manage the business unit P&L.

This role will initially be a 12 month fixed term contract and ideally the successful candidate will be ready to start in mid to late October.

What We’re Looking For / Qualifications

You\'ll be a qualified accountant (CA / CPA), ideally with a Big 4 background, who is a natural communicator and whose passion lies in the commercial side of accounting. You will also be happy and comfortable to get involved in day to day accounting as this role requires someone who is hands on and across the detail. You\'ll enjoy building relationships, understanding commercial drivers and influencing stakeholders. You\'ll have an understanding of other commercial drivers outside of core finance and how they can affect business results and drive business performance.

A background in the retail industry would be very useful, failing that if you have worked for a business with multiple sites / branches then that could also be beneficial.
