We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Finance Manager to join our senior leadership team in Auckland.
Reporting directly to the Director, Country Finance (NZ), this pivotal leadership role oversees accounting operations, financial control, and compliance, while acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
You will have the opportunity to influence business strategy and drive impactful decisions across multiple divisions.
As Finance Manager, you will lead a team of three and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting in line with IFRS and group standards.
You will manage the end-to-end financial control environment, lead audits, strengthen compliance across tax, treasury, and insurance, and support integration of new businesses through M&A activities.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting
Oversee financial reporting and statutory compliance, ensuring accuracy and alignment with IFRS and group policies
Manage month-end close processes, reconciliations, and reporting deadlines
Partner with Group Accounting and Internal Audit to ensure local policy implementation
Audit, Tax & Compliance
Lead internal and external audits, ensuring timely resolution of findings
Collaborate with the tax team to deliver compliant reporting and support tax planning
Oversee cashflow reporting, working capital management, and treasury compliance
Manage insurance renewals and risk management with external brokers
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, coach, and mentor a high-performing accounting team
Provide ongoing training, development, and performance management
Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
Business Partnering & Strategic Projects
Partner with business unit leaders, Finance Business Partners, and global teams to provide insights that support strategy execution
Contribute to financial due diligence and lead M&A integration activities
Drive process improvements and support system upgrades, including SAP and reporting tools
Finance Leadership Team Contribution
Actively contribute as a member of the NZ Finance Leadership Team
Lead initiatives to enhance finance function effectiveness and efficiency
Represent the finance function across the wider business and with external stakeholders
What you'll bring
Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or Economics, plus CA / CPA qualification
10+ years' experience in accounting and financial control, with at least 3 years in leadership
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS, consolidations, financial statements, and audit
Hands-on experience with SAP and advanced Excel skills
Excellent leadership, coaching, and people development abilities
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to influence senior leaders
Proven success in driving process improvements, system enhancements, and change initiatives
Results-oriented, adaptable, and able to thrive in a complex, fast-paced environment
