The position as Team Leader Capability and Charities Support is a significant leadership opportunity in Charities Services.
Your leadership will help enable and ensure compliance by charities with the Charities Act
In this position, you will lead the delivery of education, information and assistance that enables charities to understand and meet their regulatory requirements.
This includes building sector capability and managing assistance to individual charities in response to enquiries.
You will also manage the Charities Register and delegated regulatory functions, including issuing of regulatory notices and removals from the register.
This role includes leading the development of sector-focused resources that support good governance and compliance with the Charities Act, and the identification and implementation of improvements to charities support and capability delivery processes to improve timeliness and consistency.
We are looking for candidates who will set expectations and standards for team output and support the team to deliver a comprehensive work programme.
You will maintain quality and best practice across all regulatory functions of the team and contribute to effective regulation and regulatory decisions.
The key skills and capabilities required for this position include :
Experience leading and managing a high performing team, inspiring, supporting and developing the team to deliver the programme of work
Experience delivering regulatory systems and stakeholder functions, particularly in assisting charities with their continued registration and compliance requirements
Ability to identify, develop, and deliver initiatives that enhance the governance and management capability of the charitable sector, ensuring compliance with the Charities Act
Skills and knowledge to work effectively with and for Maori, along with understanding and commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Excellent skills in building and maintaining relationships with key sector stakeholders, understanding the regulatory context and working collaboratively across teams
Appropriate security clearance
