The Waimakariri District Council operates four Aquatic Facilities in the North Canterbury region including Dudley Park Aquatic Centre in Rangiora, Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre and the seasonal sites Oxford Community Aquatic Centre and Waikuku Beach paddling pool.

From these facilities, we provide a high-level customer experience to a wide range of users ensuring that each facility is being utilised to its full potential.

We are a respectful and progressive team delivering value for our customers.ResponsibilitiesLead the Kaiapoi Aquatic Centre team across a range of functions to ensure the comfort, safety and security of customers.Work closely with the Aquatics Leadership team to nurture talent and deliver high quality customer experiences within the facilities.Oversee operations, planning and delivery of facility maintenance, capital replacements, water quality, operational processes, training and development, PoolSafe accreditation and lifeguard standards.Collaborate to deliver a high quality experience for customers with a professional, approachable and solutions-focused approach to community needs.Champion innovation and new ideas to ensure best-value solutions through planning, organisation and delivery of services.Qualifications & ExperienceTertiary qualification in Recreation and Sport or Business Management, or at least 4 years of industry experience in senior roles.Experience in coaching and development of staff and in planning and delivering maintenance programmes.What We OfferOpportunity to make a difference in the community with ongoing training and development and potential to contribute to Council direction and the wider Recreation Industry.Competitive remuneration package with flexible working arrangements for a great work-life balance.Additional InformationPlease view the Position Description.For more information, contact Matthew Greenwood on WMK GOV) or
