- The Christchurch Men's Prison Redevelopment Programme is a multi-year infrastructure initiative that will deliver new high-security accommodation and amenities, improving conditions for staff and prisoners and supporting delivery of our three organisational outcomes.Delivered under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) model, the programme spans procurement, design and construction, and long-term asset management and facilities maintenance.As Project Manager, you'll take a hands-on role in delivering the first phase of the PPP procurement process.
You'll shape and manage workstream plans, oversee programme schedules and dependencies, and ensure high-quality documentation and reporting for governance.
You'll support the development of procurement strategies, manage tender logistics, and contribute to evaluation and negotiation processes.This role offers the chance to be part of a nationally significant programme that will directly improve infrastructure across the corrections network.
You'll work alongside a skilled and collaborative team, with the opportunity to influence outcomes that support safer environments and better long-term results for staff, prisoners, and communities.
Nga pukenga me nga wheako | Skills and experienceTo be successful you should have :Proven project management experience in infrastructure, property, or construction, with a track record of delivering projects from inception through to completion.Strong planning and delivery capability, including managing schedules, monitoring progress, and escalating risks or issues to keep complex programmes on track.Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across internal teams, technical specialists, and external suppliers.Sound understanding of procurement processes, including tender logistics, evaluation, and contract negotiation.Clear and confident communication, with the ability to produce high-quality documentation and convey technical information to a range of audiences.Nga painga | The benefitsThe midpoint of the salary range is $124,758 per annum and the full range (85%-120%) is $106,045 - $149,710 per annum.Appointment and remuneration will reflect skills and experience relevant to the role.Join Ara Poutama Aotearoa - Department of Corrections, where your work will contribute to improving public safety, reducing re-offending, and address the overrepresentation of Maori in correctional facilities.
