We have an opening for an experienced Personal Assistant / Team Administrator to support our Tourism and Hospitality branch.
This role will give you exposure to interesting work that significantly contributes to the wellbeing of Aotearoa. You will provide administrative support in a pragmatic and constructive way that will enable the team to keep commitments and to achieve deliverables. You will be supporting the teams to connect with internal and external stakeholders, other ministries, and international counterparts.
About the team and work area :
The role will report to the manager of the Tourism Stewardship and Systems policy team but supports three other policy managers and their teams within the wider Tourism and Hospitality branch.
Our purpose as a branch is to develop a deep understanding of the costs and benefits of tourism in New Zealand to provide trusted advice to the Minister for Tourism and Hospitality. We think strategically about the role of Government in supporting the growth of tourism in New Zealand and how the system should be set up to support our long-term goals. We use a wide spectrum of policy levers including coordinating and influencing, funding and some regulatory change. One of our primary roles is to advise on how central government can invest the International Visitor Conservation and Tourism Levy effectively to support the tourism system.
The Tourism and Hospitality Branch sits within the Labour Science and Enterprise Group of MBIE. Our work drives Aotearoa’s economic transformation and shapes economic development thinking to create a more productive, sustainable, and inclusive economy.
