The role oversees that finance deliverables including monthly reporting, supporting decision making and the collation of budgets and forecasts are complete in a timely manner.ResponsibilitiesWorking with the Finance Manager to provide effective partnering with and supporting business managers within a division or group of Divisions.Supporting business managers in budgeting and forecasting, including operating and capital budgeting.Accurate and timely internal reporting including financial and non-financial analysis to inform business decision making.Supporting business managers to understand reporting and to explain variances and take necessary remedial action.Ensuring that the business case process is followed and that business cases meet required standards.Adherence to the control environment.Adherence to data quality standards.Ensure that relevant accounting and reporting standards are followed.Ensure that internal audit requirements are met.Developing and maintaining relationships and networks that enable the service and entity to deliver strategic and operational goals.Facilitating positive relationships within and between services, and with other providers, agencies locally, regionally and nationally.View the position description.About the Team / ServiceAs a member of the Finance team, this role has shared accountability for : Steward trust and public funds responsibly across the $1.4 billion Hospital and Specialist Services budget.Provide consistent, accurate, and timely financial information for decision-making.Partner with operational leaders to support clinical and service sustainability.Nationally led, regionally delivered, locally responsive balancing standardisation with customer requirements.A trusted strategic partner rather than purely transactional, advising executives on productivity, investment, and cost sustainability.Digitally enabled, using common platforms, shared services, and data analytics to improve forecasting and resource allocation.Sustainable and future-focused, ensuring the health system can live within its means while still delivering equity of access and outcomes.About WaikatoThe Waikato region is a dynamic mix of scenery and culture, providing a variety of experiences for every age.
