We are seeking a passionate, proven, and highly effective team leader and class teacher to join our kura in
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a collaborative team of 5 kaiako while teaching in our dynamic Y6–8 or Y3–4 space.
The role includes additional release time and a permanent management unit, with further units (e.g. sport, schoolwide events) available by negotiation.
We're looking for someone who can champion every tamaiti, building a safe, inclusive, culturally sustaining learning environment that reflects the aspirations of our whanau, hapu and iwi.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate :
Successful experience as a team leader and mentor
Deep understanding of Te Ao Maori and ability to whakamana Te Tiriti o Waitangi
Strengths in Structured Literacy and numeracy, inclusive practices, and effective behaviour management
Skills in fostering whanau engagement, assessment for learning, PB4L, digital learning, and inquiry-based approaches
Compassion, integrity, and strong organisational and interpersonal skills
Knowledge of the refreshed curriculum and current initiatives for assessment and learning.

Terms and conditions, including base salary, are per the Primary Teachers' Collective Agreement
