- The People, Health and Safety Team provides strategic leadership in the key practice areas of internal Health and Safety and human resources management, which includes remuneration and rewards strategy, performance management and employment relations.
We are responsible for strategy, delivery and implementation and providing advice, coaching and mentoring for managers about all people matters in these areas.Our team also works collaboratively with the Recruitment and Workforce Planning, Culture and Capability and Te Korowai teams to lead and operationalise key pieces of work in support of Maritime NZ's organisational strategy, Te Korowai o Kaitiakitanga' (The Cloak of Stewardship).
Te tunga | The roleAs one of our People Operations Business Partners, you will build and maintain positive, effective relationships within the organisation to enable the provision of high-quality guidance across all of our Human Resource activities.The role provides a critical two-way conduit between our people teams and managers throughout the rest of Maritime NZ.
Primary responsibilities include :
Pro-actively partnering with and coaching managers to develop their people management and leadership capabilityProviding expert generalist Human Resources advice to managers and staff, across the full range of people management issues, including managing complex ER casesLeveraging relationships, business acumen and knowledge of the organisation to provide business context and intelligence into the development of initiatives across the people teamsCollaborating across the Group as a subject matter expert in employment-related mattersLeading an assigned specialism in an area of HR practice for the Group (e.g. remuneration, performance management, etc) and participating as People Operations representative on projects as requiredNou te rourou | What you bringWe are looking for a positive, energetic HR professional with proven experience working across the full range of HR services and a good understanding of New Zealand employment law.You will be a natural collaborator with particular strengths in building relationships, influencing and partnering with organisation leaders.
The role requires a proactive, pragmatic Business Partner who enjoys finding solutions on behalf of stakeholders and contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
