We're looking for an organised and motivated Personal Assistant to support the Director of Regulatory Systems Performance within the Biodiversity, Heritage and Visitors Group. This is a fulltime, fixed term opportunity until 30 June 2026. The role is based at Conservation House in Wellington, offering the chance to grow your coordination expertise while contributing to meaningful work.
He angitutanga | About the Role
As the Director's right-hand person, you'll provide high-level administrative support with professionalism and discretion. You'll manage a busy diary filled with shifting priorities, coordinate travel, prepare meeting packs, and ensure the Director's time is used effectively. You'll also play a key role in briefing paper preparation, including Ministerial and internal documents, and be confident chasing up stakeholders and clocking time for reviews.
Your responsibilities will include :
Diary and email management, travel arrangements, and meeting coordination.
Preparing and quality-assuring complex correspondence including Parliamentary briefs, Ministerial reports, and OIA responses.
Building strong relationships across the leadership team and support staff.
Managing sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Anticipating change and understanding what's important to keep things moving smoothly.

To succeed in this role, you'll bring :
Proven experience in executive support or a similar administrative role.
Strong coordination skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks and shifting priorities.
Excellent relationship management and communication skills.
A proactive approach to managing workflows and anticipating needs.
Intermediate to advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
An understanding of-or willingness to learn-the workings of central Government.
Confidence in managing meeting logistics, taking minutes, and tracking actions.
