ResponsibilitiesDirect, assist and perform related Control surveys, Boundary / ALTA surveys, Topographic surveys, Construction and post construction surveys, and transportation-related surveys.Maintain proper care of survey equipmentMust be able to work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to outdoor elements.Maintain documentation of all phases of survey workPerform public records researchUse public records in execution of survey field workSkills and AbilitiesProficient in reading, understanding, and evaluating the significance of survey, right-of-way, engineering, and architectural drawings with respect to each survey projectProficient in operation of total station with electronic data collecting capabilityProficient in operation of auto level equipmentKnowledge of GPS equipment preferred, but not requiredProficient in field survey methods and techniquesAbility to perform tasks independently and to assign and review work of othersPossess excellent communication skillsProficient in fundamentals of geometry and trigonometryExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsTeam oriented with strong capability to work independentlyMotivated to lead and mentor othersDesire for continued growth in the Land Surveying professionQualifications5+ years of progressive professional land surveying experienceAssociate or bachelor's degree in Land Surveying / Engineering or related field helpful, but not requiredHigh school diploma or GEDExperience with AutoCAD Civil3D desirableExperience with Microstation, Inroads and OpenRoads desirable, but not requiredExperience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS) desirable, but not requiredMust have a valid driver's licenseMust be willing to travel and stay overnight for assignments outside local area (anticipated to be less than 15% of assignments)Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Experience with MassDOT projects preferredWe are VHB!
