OverviewWe have a permanent opportunity for a Transportation Engineer to join our Performance and Analytics team.
In this role, you will be responsible for delivering transport engineering insights that support Auckland's growth and improve performance reporting of transportation network.
This is an analytical role, where you'll analyze transportation data to develop insightful reports to support projects, and inform about the overall performance of the network.ResponsibilitiesContribute to data-driven insights that help monitor and improve Auckland's transport network performance.Support the development of performance frameworks, automated reporting, and geospatial analytics.Collaborate with project teams to provide analytical support and help tell compelling stories with data.Assist in interpreting transportation data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.Promote the use of data analytics across Auckland Transport and help ensure data quality and consistency.Help deliver timely, accurate reports that support decision-making and improve customer outcomes.What you will bringWe're looking for someone who is innovative, community-minded, and passionate about transport safety and sustainability.
You will be : A qualified engineer with a Bachelor's degree, Diploma, or Certificate in Transportation Engineering or a related field.Experienced (minimum 2 years) in transportation engineering, with a focus on data analysis and performance reporting.A confident communicator with strong analytical, planning, and stakeholder engagement skills.Familiar with data analytics tools (e.g., Python, ArcGIS) and comfortable interpreting complex transport data.Knowledgeable about local government functions and statutory requirements related to transport planning and performance.Our commitments and valuesAt AT, we embrace inclusion and fully support building a diverse workplace where people come first and we feel safe, respected, valued and supported, inclusive of our differences.
