My client, a nimble and fast-growing transport consultancy, is seeking a Transport / Traffic Engineer to support them at a time of business growth.

Key Responsibilities

As an independent project lead, you will manage tasks from scoping through to delivery :

Serve as a key point of contact for clients and confidently translate complex technical analysis into plain English for non-technical stakeholders.

Prepare and develop comprehensive Transport Assessments and consent strategies aligned with local (RMA, AUP) and national standards.

Undertake site visits, data collection, and essential traffic modelling (proficiency in SIDRA or AIMSUN required).

Project Leadership.

Take full responsibility for end to end project administration and ensuring professional conduct in all external interactions.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for a solutions-focused, locally experienced engineer ready to step up you will demonstrate the following :

3–5 years' NZ experience in traffic engineering, ideally gained within a consultancy setting.

Strong track record using SIDRA for traffic modelling and proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic CAD.

Hold a bachelor's degree in Civil or Transport Engineering.

Demonstrated familiarity with RMA, AUP, and consenting processes.

Proactive, able to manage competing deadlines, and holds a current NZ driver\'s licence.

Highly Regarded : Safe Systems certification, NZTA Inspector certification, or working towards ENGNZ Chartered Membership.
