We are looking for an Associate Civil Engineer to join our dedicated and passionate Transport Infrastructure team based in our new Head office in Wynyard Quarter, Auckland.

Our team of over 60 civil engineers, project managers, and construction management professionals work across a range of transformative infrastructure projects across Aotearoa, Australia, and the Pacific.

We provide civil engineering expertise in urban redevelopment, streetscape upgrades, land development, roading, highways, industrial, buildings, water, power, ports, airports, and rail.

The variety of projects, geographies, and clients we work with offers endless opportunities for personal and professional growth.

With a strong pipeline of upcoming work and increasing market opportunities, we are seeking to add key team members to support our ongoing delivery and growth.

Working alongside some of New Zealand's best civil engineers and designers, you will :

Lead and be involved in client relationship management, project delivery, proposal preparation, project planning, and financial management.

Work directly with clients and project partners, providing technical direction and design advice across various civil and multidisciplinary projects.

Lead design teams, providing technical oversight, training, and guidance to junior staff.

Network, develop, and grow relationships with clients, industry groups, and the wider business at Beca.

Mou ake | About you

Your passion, design, and problem-solving mindset will be complemented by a desire to work on meaningful projects in a multidisciplinary environment.

You will also :

Be a Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng or equivalent) in Civil Engineering with a strong record of delivering multi-disciplinary land transport infrastructure projects.

Have experience leading projects and interacting with clients in land transport infrastructure.

Possess a broad civil engineering 'generalist' skillset, with significant experience in planning, design, and construction support across various project types, including stormwater, three waters, utilities, earthworks, geometric design, pavements, construction monitoring, and contract administration.

Familiarity with local standards and regulatory processes is essential.

Have experience with civil design and modelling software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Open Roads Designer, or 12D.

Previous hands-on experience with these packages is critical.

Bring a 'can-do' attitude and enjoy collaborative teamwork.

Be committed to self-development, learning from others, and supporting junior team members.

Previous management experience is advantageous.

Have experience managing project finances and working directly with clients daily.

Be proactive and motivated to deliver excellent solutions for clients.

We are interested in candidates with experience in utilities, site development, or land transport projects, especially in Australia or the Pacific.

A good sense of humor and a collaborative spirit will serve you well in our team.
