The role of the Senior Greenhouse Gas and Climate Insight Specialist is to manage and develop actionable insight and reporting relating to GHG emissions and climate-related risk.
Key Responsibilities
Management of climate and sustainability related data, reporting and assurance.
Development and implementation of tools and insight reporting to assess whole-of-life emissions and supporting emission reductions.
Implementing innovative sustainability, resource and energy efficiency initiatives across the organisation and in partnership with operators, designers, contractors and supply chain partners.
Developing and implementing climate change risk assessment and adaption planning.
Supporting Watercare leadership to meet climate commitments and commitment to Te Taruke-a-Tawhiri : Auckland's Climate Plan.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have the ability to develop insight to influence and lead others and collaborate across the wider business and stakeholders.
You will be a confident communicator with excellent interpersonal skills.
Your Skills And Experience
A Bachelor of Engineering, Science or equivalent tertiary qualifications.
Experience working with and querying databases and wider data sources is preferred.
5+ years relevant experience in GHG accounting according to the GHG protocol, ISO
Familiarity with reporting for climate related disclosures under XRB or similar frameworks.
Experience with managing sustainability in water or similar complex infrastructure contexts.
Understanding of climate change adaptation, risk assessment processes.
Excellent MS Excel (advanced) and general analytical and BI skills.
