About the Role
As the Pacific Health Clinical Service Director, you will lead the delivery of the Pacific model of care within hospital and specialist services and establish and strengthen a multidisciplinary Pacific team within the hospital, providing vital support for Pacific patients and their families.
As a senior leader, you will drive quality improvement, collaborate with key stakeholders, and oversee cultural competency training to enhance healthcare outcomes.
You will play a key role in delivering the Pacific Health Plan, supporting workforce development, and implementing patient-informed quality improvement programmes.
This role is located in the Te Manawa Taki Region and requires the successful candidate to be living in that region to support the requirements of the role.
About the Team / Service / Location
This role is part of the Pacific Health Operations & H&SS Improvement team at Health New Zealand, supporting efforts to enhance healthcare access and outcomes for Pacific communities in the Te Manawa Taki region.
Focused on operational excellence and service improvement, the team works closely with stakeholders to drive faster access to hospital care and treatment, foster culturally responsive healthcare, and implement innovative solutions that meet the needs of Pacific patients and their families.
Reporting to the Head of Operations Pacific & H&SS Improvement, this position plays a vital role in ensuring health services are effective, inclusive, and aligned with the organisation's vision for equitable care.

About you
You have a strong understanding of Pacific health needs, service requirements, and funding processes, ensuring effective service planning and quality improvement.
With experience in managing health initiatives / programmes, developing high performing teams and a major contributor to planning and strategy, you bring strategic insight and the ability to drive meaningful change.
Your excellent networking skills, diplomacy, and sensitivity allow you to build trusted relationships across sectors, while your well-developed communication and interpersonal abilities support collaboration and impact.
