We're looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to join our Christchurch based team.
This newly created role is your chance to take ownership of our national fleet and help us build smarter, safer, and more sustainable transport solutions.
Reporting to the Group Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing the full lifecycle of our fleet — from procurement and maintenance to compliance, budgeting, and performance.
You'll work across a diverse range of vehicles, equipment, and assets including cars, utes, forklifts, trucks, and trailers etc.
What you'll be doing
Managing day-to-day fleet operations and ensuring all assets are roadworthy, fit for purpose, and well-utilised.
Leading procurement, maintenance, compliance, and disposal of fleet assets.
Driving a strong safety culture and supporting sustainability initiatives.
Managing fleet budgets, analysing performance, and identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs.
Building strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Using data and systems to support smarter decision-making and continuous improvement.
Supporting the Procurement Team to implement and deliver upon other non-trade procurement operations.
What you'll bring
5+ years' experience in fleet or transport management, ideally in a large or complex organisation and vehicle fleet of 300+.
Experience negotiating and managing contracts with vehicle suppliers, leasing companies and other key providers.
Solid understanding of NZ transport legislation and compliance requirements.
Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or commercial management roles.
Strong budgeting and cost control skills, with a focus on value for money.
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Confidence using fleet management systems, GPS / telematics, and Microsoft Office.
A genuine commitment to health & safety and sustainability.
Bonus if you have
A tertiary qualification in logistics, transport, or business (preferred, but not essential).
Experience leading fleet projects or rolling out new systems and technologies.
