Overview
BGIS is seeking an experienced Delivery Manager to join our Christchurch team in a vital Trade Services Leadership role.
You will lead a growing in-house team of trades professionals, delivering high-quality maintenance services to internal clients across a broad range of trade disciplines.
These include Electrical Technicians, HVAC Technicians, Carpenters, Plumbers, Painters, Roofers, Floor Installers, and more.
This is a hands-on leadership role, responsible for the end-to-end coordination of works - from scoping, quoting, and scheduling to quality assurance and compliance.
You\'ll also drive workforce planning, manage team performance, support recruitment and training, and identify areas for improvement.
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager (South Island), you will oversee 4+ direct reports (Site Foremen) and up to 10+ indirect reports, working closely with the Maintenance Manager, National Self-Perform Operational Support Manager, and other internal stakeholders to ensure smooth & high-quality service delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a multi-trade internal team delivering maintenance services
Scope, price, and schedule works to meet client needs and project timelines
Ensure safety, compliance, and quality standards are upheld across all jobs
Drive team development, performance management, and succession planning
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to deliver operational outcomes
Forecast and align internal resources to meet current and future demands
Skills and Experience
Trade-qualified or hands-on background in maintenance or construction
Demonstrated leadership experience managing field-based teams
Assertive leader with the ability to command respect, enforce decisions, and communicate effectively across all levels of the workforce
Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
Technically proficient, with the ability to work with digital systems and tools
Experience working within government or commercial contracts (desirable)
