Rossendale Care Home located in Hamilton is searching for an Activities Assistant with a creative flair to join our community.
There is a permanent full-time position working an average of 32 hours per week.
Rotating roster covering Monday – Sunday.
Hours of work : 10 : 00am to 4 : 30pm or 11 : 30am to 6 : 00pm.
Total of 168 hours per 6-week roster period.
In this role, you will be supporting the Activities Coordinator, identifying the leisure activity needs of residents based on their interests, preferences, and abilities and contributing to the planning and implementation of individual and group activities programmes.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Participate and contribute to both individual and group programme activities.
Contribute to the review and assessment of the residents\' individual activities programme.
Actively promote a homely, stimulating, and pleasant environment for the residents and their families.
Develop and maintain excellent internal and external communication networks to support the activities programme.
About You
An NZQA Certificate in Diversional Therapy Level is preferred.
Previous experience in a similar role within aged care is desirable.
Display enthusiasm, empathy, and a passion for making a positive impact on the lives of residents.
Demonstrate outstanding communication skills.
A fun personality with a creative flair.
A clean, full driver's licence is preferable, as you may drive the van for resident outings.
