Overview

We are looking for reliable, motivated and personable Swimming Instructors who enjoy being in the water and interacting with children from 3 years and above and possibly babies.

The job is located at the Diocesan Aquatic Centre in Epsom, and we are looking for long-term candidates.

Responsibilities

You will be Teaching children of different ages, backgrounds and levels in accordance to our Swim School Curriculum

Inspiring students to build their water safety skills and water confidence

Maintaining a clean and safe environment by setting up and packing equipment before and after lessons

Fostering and maintain positive relationships with children and parents

The swim school runs during school terms Monday – Thursday afternoons and Monday, Wednesday and Saturday mornings, we also have school holiday swim programmes which are optional to work.

We can offer flexible working days and hours to the right candidate.

Swim Instructor hours per week can range from 2-15 hours, with the ability to pick up more hours as pool staff if interested.

Ideally, we are looking at Swim Instructors to start at the beginning of Term 4 2025.

Qualifications

Prior experience swim teaching is preferable and it is required you have previous experience in swimming or other water sports.

Must be able to swim 400m minimum and be confident assisting students in a 2m deep pool.

Familiarity with the different strokes (Freestyle, Backstroke, Breaststroke and Butterfly) is advantageous

A patient and flexible attitude and friendly demeanor

Excellent interpersonal, customer service, team building and time management skills

The ideal candidate will also have experience working with children, or enjoy interacting with children

The hourly rate for the role Is $24.00 per hour to $34.00 per hour dependent on experience.
