Finance & Administration Officer

In your new role as a Finance & Grants Officer, you will be working for a leading charitable organisation committed to supporting communities across New Zealand.

This Wellington-based role combines financial management with grants administration, offering variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a direct impact in our communities.The Role - This is a dual-focused position where you will act as a go between for the finance and grants teams.Finance Responsibilities : Oversee daily uploads of banking data and weekly reportingManage payroll for staff and directors on a fortnightly basisPrepare monthly GST and returns for Inland Revenue.Maintain the Fixed Assets register and process depreciation entriesEnsure timely venue payments and monthly balance sheet reconciliationsProduce monthly financial statements and performance reportsSupport the Finance Manager and CEO with additional accounting duties as requiredGrants Responsibilities : Receive, review, and process grant applicationsResearch applicants to ensure eligibility and compliance with funding criteriaPrepare application summaries and assist members with decisionsCommunicate decisions to applicants and provide timely reportingDevelop and maintain strong relationships with grant applicants, stakeholders, and community organisationsSupport with grant auditing and compliance obligationsAbout You - We are looking for someone with : Proven experience in accounting, payroll, and financial reportingStrong knowledge of accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Office skillsExperience in grants administration, customer service, or community funding is desirableExcellent communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to build strong stakeholder relationshipsStrong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage competing prioritiesA proactive, solutions-focused approach and a genuine commitment to supporting New Zealand communitiesHow to ApplyIf you are ready to bring both your financial expertise and your passion for community impact to this unique role, we'd love to hear from you.
