Te Tari Pūreke – Firearms Safety Authority is New Zealand’s Firearms Regulator. Our Vision is to ensure the possession and use of firearms in Aotearoa is the safest in the world.
To achieve this, Te Tari Pūreke delivers four core functions : effectively implementing the firearms licensing systems; managing the Firearms Registry; educating people to enable compliance with their legislative responsibilities; and promoting the safe possession and lawful use of firearms.

About the role
The role will initiate and lead financial analysis, providing appropriate and reliable financial and business advice, recommendations, and expert technical interpretation of complex strategic matters. Prepare, analyse, and review a variety of complex financial documents, reports and proposals submissions, briefing and discussion papers, ensuring comprehensiveness, accuracy and timeliness and proactively tailoring communications to the audience.
To assist Te Tari Pūreke with these and other changes we are seeking a Senior Finance Advisor . The Senior Finance Advisor will work within our Strategy, Performance and Capability Directorate and report directly to the director. As part of that directorate and the wider business the senior advisor will contribute to key business with varying degrees of complexity.
To support the business delivery the Senior Finance Advisor will lead the development and coordination of the baseline planning process on behalf of the business unit, ensure managers are well supported throughout the process. Enabling clarity on the cost of our services and the cost pressures and opportunities across the business unit.

We as the firearms regulator, collaborate closely with both the Ministry of Justice and NZ Police. The Ministry of Justice is responsible for policy advice and system oversight and NZ Police is responsible for law enforcement function.

This position is covered by a collective agreement and salary will commence at $142,124.00 dependent on skills and experience relevant to the role.
