The purpose of this role is to lead and support the delivery of both day-to-day and strategic people and capability work.
This includes providing high-quality advice to managers and staff on employment matters, helping to shape organisational practices through projects and initiatives, supporting performance and development processes, and maintaining accurate, accessible records and policies.
The role also involves building strong relationships across the business, mentoring team members, and contributing to continuous improvement and capability uplift across the organisation.
Responsibilities
Deliver timely, systematic, and effective operational support across the People and Capability team.
Provide trusted advice to managers on employment relations, remuneration, performance, and learning and development.
Monitor and manage the annual performance review cycle, ensuring organisation-wide understanding and identifying themes in development plans.
Offer expert guidance on training and development needs, supporting capability uplift
Contribute to or lead People and Capability projects that drive strategic outcomes and improve employee experience.
Contribute to the continuous development of the People programme, ensuring it remains relevant, inclusive, and future-focused.
Analyse people-related data and trends, providing insights and recommendations to inform decision-making.
Build strong, trust-based relationships across the Authority to enable knowledge sharing and organisational learning.
Communicate with clarity, empathy, and influence - adapting style to suit audience and context.
Actively participate as a collaborative team member, sharing expertise and contributing to collective success.
Lead with purpose and integrity, inspiring confidence and supporting others to navigate change.
Represent People and Capability with professionalism and credibility across the organisation.
