Senior Financial Accountant

Overview

Fixed-term opportunity through to September 2026 (secondment cover). Based in our National Office in Wellington CBD.

About the role

We’re looking for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our finance team on a fixed term basis. Reporting to the Financial Accounting Manager, this hands-on role supports effective business management through the delivery of high-quality financial information. You’ll be integral in delivering accurate and timely monthly results for a large complex organisation, and you will play a critical role in our statutory reporting and external audit process. Other key responsibilities include internal reporting, group consolidation, and core treasury functions. You’ll provide mentoring support for more junior members of the team and also play a key role in contributing to process improvement initiatives.

• CA qualification and relevant tertiary degree (Finance, Commerce, Accounting).
• Solid financial accounting experience with strong knowledge of NZ IFRS and / or NZ PBE standards.
• Proven experience in month-end close processes, statutory reporting and external audit process.
• Working knowledge of treasury operations and cashflow management.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Attention to detail, and a collaborative, improvement-focused approach.
• Experience with Microsoft Business Central 365 advantageous.
