Registered Nurses - Operating Theatre, Burwood Hospital

About the role We have a current vacancy within our Operating Theatre Suite which offers you a varied role that it covers an elective service for adult orthopaedics, plastic surgery, urology, hand surgery patients and spinal surgery.

Ideally you will be an experienced Registered Nurse with the ability to be solution focused and work well under pressure within a multidisciplinary team (MDT).

Efficient and smooth-running operating sessions require the MDT to work collaboratively therefore, excellent interpersonal skills, team work and sound communication are imperative to this role.

Flexibility to work rotating rostered shifts alongside sound clinical knowledge and enthusiasm to take on the challenge of working in a variety of clinical specialties is paramount to your success in this position.

Professional development is supported and you will have opportunities to attend training.

• Permanent, part-time 0.5FTE position
• Fixed term, part-time 0.8 FTE position covering parental leave until December

Skills and experience

• You will be a confident practitioner with exceptional patient assessment skills
• Sound clinical skills and knowledge, confidence and ability to work effectively with a wide range of people are imperative to this role.
• Enthusiastic, motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to engage a wide variety of people, is paramount in this role.About You Organised, with great attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to contribute positively to the team are key attributes to your success in this role.

Recent operating theatre experience would be preferred, however we'll ensure you're given a comprehensive orientation package and ongoing opportunities to continue your own professional development.
