About the role

Reporting to the Nurse Manager, we are looking for an AssistantCare Manager for this full time, permanent position. You will be responsible for supporting and leading the clinical team ensuring clinical excellence is at the forefront of everything we do. You may be a Senior Nurse in Aged Care with the right attitude wanting to step up. Based in Christchurch, The Village Palms has an excellent working environment with a beautiful modern Rest Home and Hospital.

You will also need to be flexible to cover RN shifts as required and be available to share the "On Call" with the team.

Standard days of work are Tuesday to Saturday, so you must be available to work every Saturday.

Responsibilities

• Using your clinical skills to access and identify the needs of our residents to be able to formulate / review individual care plans.
• Ensure compassionate and excellent quality of care is provided to all residents.
• Develop lasting relationships with our residents and their families / whanau.
• Support the Nurse Manager to lead and manage a team of registered nurses, ensuring day to day high levels of clinical delivery. Ensuring clinical compliance meets auditing requirements.
• Supporting, identifying, and upskilling the needs and requirements of the registered nurses and care workers, as well as providing appropriate direction and delegation.
• Working and liaising closely with the Business Care Manager to undertake risk management, quality projects and improvements.
• Support the linical On-Call7 roster.
• In the absence of the Nurse Manager pick up delegated management & financial duties such approving time & attendance records for Payroll
