OverviewTerritory Sales Manager – Exciting opportunity to join the Animal Health Division of a Multinational Pharmaceutical Company & Technology Company New Zealand.
Permanent Full-Time opportunity based within Waikato.
The primary responsibility of the Territory Manager is to maximise sales across the company's product range within a designated territory.
The Territory Manager is based in field within their defined territory and reports to the Sales Lead.What you will doYour responsibilities will include, but are not limited to : Achieve sales targets and activity levels for assigned territory and productsDevelop and implement territory plans to achieve sales targets, regularly revising activity against achievementBuild and maintain effective working relationships with customers and clients e.g. Farmers, Regional and Store Managers, Field Representatives, Key Industry StakeholdersUtilise Technical Advisors within territory to influence customers and clients to assist in delivery of technical messaging and drive salesLeverage strong business relationships to deliver business resultsIdentify customer needs and clearly communicate how Animal Health products and services can provide solutionsEffectively articulate the value Animal Health products versus other animal health and identification optionsIdentify and participate in all promotions with the goal of maximising salesProvide technical and sales training activities to distributors / partners to ensure proper messaging is being transferred to the end userEnsure product complaint investigation, pricing queries, compliance issues and follow up requests are executed appropriately and within required timelinesProvide corporate sales presentations to relevant consumer groups, customers & distributorsRegularly analyse customer data (through MAXX and other sources) to assist with territory, customer and pre-call planning, and the identification and targeting of high value customersRecord customer interactions within CRM systems (e.g. MAXX) to inform next call objectives, and to assist in building a single view of the customer to inform marketing strategy and tacticsMaintain a high level of product knowledge, as well as a broader understanding of Animal Health issuesMaintain a high level of product knowledge for competitor products to ensure best positioning of Animal Health productsMaintain an active interest in improving selling skills, including company selling programs, key account management principlesEnsure effective communication across the sales and marketing team, share knowledge and participate positively in sales team meetings and marketing-initiated forumsMonitor competitor activity, developing action plans to counteract within territoryKeep sales lead and informed of competitor activity via regular reportingEnsure all business activity complies with all relevant Acts, policies and proceduresAbout youYou will have the following key attributes : Tertiary business or science degree preferredDemonstrated commercial success in a sales role is preferredGood understanding of local farming practices within New ZealandIntermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office package (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and other technologies (e.g. iPad) essentialAbility to build long term relationshipsAbility to convey technical information in a manner easily understoodHigh level of flexibility and resilienceNegotiation and influencing skillsAbility to problem solve in a logical mannerExcellent written and oral communication skills including audio visual presentationsExcellent organisational skills and timeliness in responding to customer needsAbility to work well with others, demonstrating collaboration and inclusive behavioursSelf-starter with initiative who works well with minimal supervisionAbility to make decisions on a day-to-day basis concerning normal activities.What you can expectOpportunity to make a positive impact in the adoption of our innovative and market leading vaccine range and performance improvement technologies in the animal health industryUse your in-depth knowledge of the animal health industry in combination with strong commercial acumen, to make an impact in a rewarding role in a major Global CompanyFantastic opportunity to join a high performing Sales Team and a Business Unit going through a period of significant transformation and positive changeOur Animal Health division is a trusted global leader in veterinary medicine, dedicated to the health and well-being of animals.
