Brown Brothers Engineers , a member of the AxFlow Group, is a respected leader in the pump and water industry. As a major distributor of globally recognized pump brands and systems, we serve a wide range of markets including industrial, municipal, food & beverage, agricultural, and building services sectors across New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

We’re currently seeking an experienced and motivated Area Sales Manager to join our Auckland-based team. This full-time, permanent role reports directly to the Branch Manager.

Position Summary :

The Area Sales Manager is responsible for driving sales growth, managing key client relationships and leading business development initiatives within the Engineering sector across the Auckland region. This role combines strategic planning with hands-on sales execution to expand market share and deliver revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

Develop and execute a regional sales strategy aligned with national objectives.

Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the engineering and industrial sectors.

Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure.

Client Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, consultants, and contractors.

Provide technical product knowledge and support tailored to client needs.

Conduct regular site visits and client meetings to ensure satisfaction and retention.

Team & Territory Management

Oversee sales activities within the Auckland territory, ensuring coverage and performance.

Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, operations, marketing) to deliver client solutions.

Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform strategy.

Reporting & Forecasting

Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and forecasts using CRM tools.

Prepare monthly and quarterly sales reports for senior management.

Achieve or exceed sales targets and KPIs.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in B2B sales, preferably in the engineering or industrial sector.

Proven track record of achieving sales targets and managing a territory.

Strong understanding of technical products and solutions.

Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Business, or related field (preferred).

Current Drivers License

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen.

Self-motivated and results-driven.

Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
