Te Omanga Hospice is a charitable trust that provides specialist palliative care to patients and their whānau in the Hutt Valley living with a life-limiting or terminal illness. Our vision is that everyone with palliative needs in our community receives equitable, responsive, and proactive care. Te Omanga is more than just a hospice. We are looking for Registered Nurses to grow our Casual Nursing pool. We have casual roles in our Community, Inpatient and End of Life Care Nursing teams. These are positions that require palliative care knowledge and a desire to work in this specialised field. Experience in specialist palliative care and working in the community is essential for nurses wishing to work in the community or end of life care teams.
Responsibilities
Work in a team environment with strong support from the wider hospice multi-disciplinary team. Build relationships with patients and their whānau, providing support at a challenging time. Apply a holistic approach to care and demonstrate confidence in palliative care knowledge.
Qualifications and Skills
Registered Nurse with palliative care knowledge. Experience in specialist palliative care and community work is essential for roles in the community or end of life care teams. Ability to work holistically and collaborate within a multi-disciplinary team.
