The role
We currently have a 12-month fixed-term opportunity for a Senior Change Manager in security at Stats NZ, working 0.5 FTE (18.75 hours per week).
Future Census has an IT Security Roadmap and a Protective Security Requirements Working Group undertaking major change.
These programs will give Stats NZ staff the technology, risk management and processes to continue to do their work safely.
The biggest change needed is cultural; if you are a big-scale thinker who loves engaging and moving entire organisations on important initiatives, this position is for you.
The project teams are based in Wellington.
You will work in the Security team, reporting to the Security Manager and supporting the Security Roadmap Project Manager and a Senior Business Analyst who are passionate about their work and supportive of you.
You will be accountable for the management and delivery of change management and related communications activities, including :
Responsibilities
Conduct impact analyses, assess change readiness, and identify key stakeholders.
Create and update stakeholder assessments and maps for current security projects.
Develop and execute change management processes and activities across system / technical, business, cultural and behavioural changes.
Ensure impacts of change are understood and communicated effectively to stakeholders and staff, so change initiatives land well with end users.
Enable design, development, delivery and management of key communications.
Provide input, document requirements, and support the design and delivery of training materials for AKO, and work with communications to ensure templates are used for external messages.
Support and engage senior leaders and successfully implement change from identification through embedding and sustaining the change in the business.
Integrate change management activities into the project plan and ADO.
Collate feedback on behalf of the business to monitor progress, impact and satisfaction of improvements.
What you bring
Your experience in change management, ideally 4+ years across a range of projects / initiatives and implementation mechanisms.
Strong experience working with leaders and people at all levels in a high-change environment.
Knowledge or willingness to learn Te Tiriti, Tikanga, Te Reo and Te Ao Maori, and engage with Maori.
Demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion in and / or outside of work.
Understanding of the machinery of government and related processes and procedures.
Role-specific training in change management (e.g., Prosci, CMI accreditation, APMG) is desirable.
