About The Role
CSR is a market leader in innovative building solutions across residential and commercial markets, with brands including Potters and CSR Building Products.
In New Zealand, we deliver interior and exterior solutions across a diverse portfolio.
We focus on gaining market share through early-stage specification, embedding CSR products into major national projects before they break ground.
Reporting to the NZ Country Manager, the National Specification Manager is a pivotal senior leadership role shaping and executing CSR's specification strategy across New Zealand.
Based in Auckland (Penrose), with oversight of teams in Wellington and Christchurch, this role provides national leadership to position CSR's products early in the design process and embedded into major projects.
You will lead and develop a team of six Specification Managers, guiding national pipeline management, fostering market influence, and ensuring consistency of technical engagement with the design and construction sector.
The role is about setting direction, building influence, and ensuring excellence in delivery at a national scale.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strategic leadership to a national team of Specification Managers, fostering capability, consistency, and professional growth.
Build enduring partnerships with leading architectural and design firms, ensuring CSR products are specified in major national projects.
Develop and execute the national specification strategy, aligned with CSR's broader sales and marketing objectives.
Oversee the national specification pipeline, ensuring accuracy in forecasting and clarity in reporting.
Guide and quality-assure technical presentations and engagement with architects, consultants, and developers.
Monitor construction and design trends, turning insights into strategic opportunities.
Champion cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Customer Service to ensure smooth project execution.
Drive best practice in CRM usage, data accuracy, and reporting discipline.
About You / We're Looking For
You are an experienced leader in architectural specification or technical engagement, with the ability to inspire teams, influence at the highest levels, and shape national strategy.
You combine strong commercial acumen with market insight and are motivated by lifting capability and delivering long-term growth.
Proven leadership in specification or technical engagement within the NZ building sector.
Experience managing and developing multi-site or national teams.
Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and the project lifecycle.
Demonstrated ability to build influence within architectural and design networks.
Strategic thinker with the judgment to prioritise opportunities at scale.
Proficiency in CRM and project pipeline management.
Experience leading specification for large commercial, government, or infrastructure projects.
Auckland-based (preferred).
