The region includes Waitakere Ranges, Muriwai, Te Rau Puriri Regional Parks, and a mix of beaches, farmland, and forest.This year we are seeking 8x Summer Rangers to lead, protect and enhance the environment and natural landscapes of Tamaki Makarau's Western Regional Parks.These positions will work full-time from 12 November 2025 – 11 February 2026 or 12 November – 11 March 2026.
A mandatory training camp is required from 17 November 2025 – 21 November 2025 at Waitawa Regional Park.You would work on a roster that includes every weekend and public holiday over the summer period, including Christmas and New Year's Day.Curious what a day in the life of a summer ranger looks like?

Why this role mattersOur Summer Park Rangers are a key part of facilitating safe and enjoyable outdoor recreation and education experiences.
They will assist with bylaw control, maintenance of parks across the network including bush, signage and arrival areas.
Summer Rangers engage with the public daily, providing assistance and excellent customer service.Read through the fact sheets for information on the different regions and the tasks to expect.This role pays a living wage at $28.95 per hour.
