Assistant Gardner

As a Assistant Gardner you will support gardening and landscaping activities. This role involves performing manual labour to maintain gardens, parks, and green spaces, ensuring they remain attractive and well-maintained.

The hourly rate : $24 – 26 per hour.

Guaranteed minimum 30 hours per week.

Maximum 70 hours per week in busy season.

Location : Auckland

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with planting, watering, and caring for flowers, trees, shrubs, and lawns.
• Spread mulch, fertilizers, compost, and soil as needed.
• Perform manual weeding and remove garden waste and debris.
• Operate and maintain basic gardening tools such as rakes, shovels, and hedge trimmers.
• Assist with mowing lawns, trimming hedges, and clearing walkways.
• Maintain irrigation systems and ensure proper watering schedules.
• Support senior gardeners in general landscaping tasks.
• Follow workplace safety guidelines to ensure a safe work environment

Qualifications and Experience required

6 months relevant experience or any level 2 qualifications.

Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, and kneeling.

Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Good teamwork and communication skills.

Basic knowledge of gardening tools and equipment (preferred).

Pre employment drug test required.
