Job SummaryThis role involves responsibility for the construction of specific renewable energy projects within the NZ portfolio, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
The role also supports the development stage of projects through technical and financial assessments.Location : Auckland, NZResponsibilitiesDevelop, present, and gain approval for the construction strategy of each project, including resource planning.Propose and agree on the Levels of Authority (LoA) with the SVP Construction and Renewables CEO for each project.Ensure resources and procedures are in place to mitigate risks related to health and safety, environmental impacts, and quality standards.Collaborate with Procurement and Legal teams to tender, negotiate, and finalize OEM equipment supply, EPC / multi-contract, and consultancy agreements.Maintain and update the Project Execution Plan (PEP) throughout the project lifecycle.Develop construction schedules aligned with development timelines and equipment availability.Oversee construction progress and compliance, managing stakeholder interfaces.Ensure adherence to legislation, permits, and agreements.Act as Project Director during construction when required, participating in Steering Committees.Conduct site visits to assess progress and compliance.Coordinate with Finance to ensure timely project funding and with Operations for a successful handover.Support corporate advisory and support departments.Provide regular progress reports to senior management.Assist in technical, engineering, and financial evaluation during project development, assessing construction challenges and risks.Manage construction personnel recruitment and resolve contract disputes and warranty claims.Travel as needed to suppliers and project sites.Perform on-site work during pre-construction and construction phases to ensure project standards.Perform other tasks as assigned by management.Qualifications / SkillsDegree in engineering or equivalent training.At least 5 years of utility-scale wind and solar project management experience with multi-million dollar contracts.Minimum of 8 years of construction project management experience.Experience managing OEM and EPC contracts.Global procurement experience.Fluent in English, both written and spoken.Proficient in Microsoft Word, Project, and Excel.Experience working and traveling globally.Cross-functional experience beneficial, e.g., development and operations.Understanding of electrical systems.Additional languages like Spanish and Italian are a plus.Experience with AUTOCAD, GIS, BIM, Primavera / MS Project, and construction management software.ApplyingIf qualified and interested, please submit your CV and cover letter explaining your suitability for this role.
