Overview

Join Auckland Transport as a Project Manager - AI, Analytics & Data!

Auckland Transport is searching for a Project Manager with proven Data Analytics experience to drive the delivery of innovative AI, analytics, and data initiatives that shape the future of our city. This role is a 12-month maternity leave cover. Location : Viaduct, Auckland.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Inspire : Manage and motivate talented project teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
  • Drive Innovation : Collaborate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Champion best practices and continuous improvement across systems and processes.
  • Own the Outcome : Oversee every stage of the project lifecycle, from planning and execution to handover and operational support.
  • Build Relationships : Forge strong partnerships with internal teams, vendors, consultants, and key stakeholders. Communicate clearly and proactively to keep everyone informed and engaged.
  • Grow and Develop : Mentor team members, encourage professional growth, and foster a culture of collaboration and cross-skilling.
  • At least 6 years' experience managing complex projects, ideally in a political or highly complex organisation.
  • Experience in delivery of innovative AI, analytics, and data initiatives / projects.
  • Proven ability to lead medium-large teams and deliver results in fast-paced environments.
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and a pragmatic approach to problem-solving.
  • Expertise in project management software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship management skills.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Project Management, IT, or equivalent experience.
  • Certification in PMP, Prince2, or similar (or 6+ years documented project management experience).
