Guidance Counsellor

Overview

Wakatipu High School's vision is for Aotearoa New Zealand's best all-round education.

We are looking for a great guidance counsellor to join our growing collaborative and student-centred team.

Our ideal candidate will be an experienced and qualified school guidance counsellor who has a growth mindset and track-record of forming effective professional relationships with students, staff, parents and the community as they support our students on their journey through WHS and beyond.

Note : this is a therapeutic counselling role, not career / education type guidance.

State any teaching subjects.

Wakatipu High School is a well-resourced, co-educational school with a growing roll of more than 1500 students, situated in Queenstown in the stunning Wakatipu Basin.

Responsibilities

Provide therapeutic counselling to students (not career / education guidance).

Support the wellbeing and personal development of students through individual and group counselling.

Form effective professional relationships with students, staff, parents and the community to support students on their journey through WHS and beyond.

Qualifications

Experienced and qualified school guidance counsellor.

Growth mindset and ability to work collaboratively in a student-centred team.
