We are seeking a passionate and experienced Volunteer Coordinator to join our dedicated team at the Hawke's Bay Digital Archives Trust (Knowledge Bank Hawke's Bay) under a fixed-term contract.
As a part-time Volunteer Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting and managing our valued volunteer network, ensuring the smooth operation of our community-driven digital archiving initiatives.What you\'ll be doingDevelop a volunteer manual including standard operating procedures, job descriptions and expectationsRecruit, train, and schedule volunteers to assist with digitising, cataloguing, and preserving historical records and documentsDevelop and maintain effective communication channels with volunteers, providing ongoing support, guidance, and recognitionCoordinate volunteer activities, including task assignment, project planning, and performance monitoringOrganise and facilitate volunteer training sessions, workshops, and team-building eventsCollaborate with the broader team to identify and address volunteer-related needs and opportunitiesMaintain accurate records of volunteer hours, contributions, and feedbackPromote volunteer engagement and foster a positive, inclusive volunteer cultureWhat we\'re looking forProven experience in volunteer coordination or management, preferably in a non-profit or community-based organisationStrong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectivelyExcellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a diverse volunteer teamA passion for community service and a commitment to preserving local history and heritageFamiliarity with volunteer management software or databasesKnowledge of the Hawkes Bay region and its community organisationsWhat we offerAt the Hawke\'s Bay Digital Archives Trust, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and rewarding work environment for our team.
