The Manager Linux and Infrastructure will oversee and maintain our critical systems, whether they are information technology (IT) infrastructure (servers, networks, data centres) or public infrastructure (transportation, utilities).
Key responsibilities include maintenance of physical infrastructure across multiple data centres.
planning, implementing, and maintaining systems, ensuring their security, reliability, and performance.
They will manage :
IT infrastructure and Linux teams, handling budgets, and aligning infrastructure with business needs
The deployment, maintenance, and security of infrastructure and services to meet business objectives and ensure compliance
Cloud-based infrastructure and services responsibilities.
MetService has a range of products and has been evolving itself away from historical platforms / environments and into a cloud-based AWS environment, and this role will be instrumental in leading and driving this change.
The successful candidate will have prior experience in an Infrastructure and / or Network management role in a mission critical, 24 / 7 commercial environment, Additionally, they will be capable of driving / supporting changes through technology in an organisation that is on the journey to rationalise and standardise tools, technologies, and approaches
Among other things you will have :
Previous experience leading a team of people to deliver efficient and effective services to customers
Tertiary Level Qualification in IT related discipline or 10+ years equivalent experience
Technical knowledge of Linux, Windows, Server, SD WAN, Network & Cloud Technologies
Proven ability to innovate and think strategically, to challenge accepted ways of doing things
Proven experience and knowledge of web hosting configuration components, including firewalls, load balancers, web and database servers and certificate management.
Initiative to anticipate situations and problems and ability to advise of the appropriate solution / s.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
