An exciting opportunity to join NZ Customs as a Cloud Ops Engineer. This is a full-time permanent position based in Wellington, New Zealand.
Reporting to the Manager Engineering, this role provides Cloud Operations support while building and supporting platforms and services that deliver value to customers. You will help ensure that platforms are secure, fit-for-purpose, stable and low maintenance. As part of a wider Engineering Team, the Cloud Ops Engineer focuses on quality and continual improvement of the platforms that underpin customer products, while growing yourself, your team and Customs.

Working for New Zealand Customs
To join Customs in any role you must be a New Zealand citizen or New Zealand permanent resident and be able to obtain and maintain an Organisational Security clearance to Confidential level. A New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in New Zealand for the last five years (including five years ago from the date of this application) and resides in New Zealand at the time of application is required.
Alternatively, a New Zealand Citizen or New Zealand Permanent Resident who has resided continuously in New Zealand for the last five years and has travelled outside New Zealand for short periods (e.g., up to 6 months) to Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States or Canada, and can provide police certificates from those countries for the period of absence, may be considered.
Because of the nature of Customs' work you must have a clear Police record. Organisational security clearances are mandatory and are conducted by Customs. You will also be required to pass a drug test. A background history that is verifiable and can be assessed by the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service toward a recommendation of suitability for security clearance at a higher level is required.
