About The Role

We are seeking a Lead / Principal Data Engineer to join our clients dynamic team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of their Data Platform. This is an exciting opportunity to leverage your leadership, cloud expertise, and data engineering prowess to guide the technical vision and strategic data assets of a forward-thinking organisation.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical design and delivery of Azure-native data platform services (Databricks, Delta Lake, event streaming).

Provide technical mentorship and hands-on support to engineers, fostering innovation and capability uplift.

Partner with data product teams and stakeholders to align platform features with organisational goals.

Champion best practices in DevOps, IaC (Terraform, Azure DevOps), CI / CD, and cloud monitoring.

Evolve platform architecture to meet emerging needs and support technical governance / standardisation.

Skills & Experience

Proven experience designing and delivering cloud-based data platforms at scale (Azure Databricks, Spark, Terraform).

Deep understanding of cloud-native architectures, containerization (AKS, Docker), and secure data integration.

Strong knowledge of data governance, metadata management, and compliance.

Experience supporting or mentoring data engineering teams in Agile environments.

Ability to communicate technical strategy clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
