Full-time, Permanent position as a 0.4 Learning Support Coordinator and 0.6 Teacher.
Area / composite (Years 1–15), Certificated teacher in subjects including English, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Māori, and The arts.
The Learning Support Coordinator plays a key role in supporting, modelling, and coaching of practice at Akaroa Area School, working with staff across Y1–13. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of pedagogy, curriculum, differentiation of learning, and interventions to support acceleration and differentiation. Collaboration with ākonga, whanau, staff, and agencies is essential to enable the best outcome for ākonga. An ability to look beyond traditional practices and be resourceful is important in a relatively isolated community. Experience in leadership is advantageous.
This role has a teaching component. The successful applicant will have curriculum strengths, teaching experience, experience with Te Mātaiaho, and experience in implementing junior and middle school literacy and mathematics initiatives.

The position commences term 1, 2026 or as soon as possible by negotiation.
