Our wonderful Kāhu team leader is moving to another region, creating an exciting opportunity for a new leader to step into this pivotal senior school role.

At Hato Ōpani, St Albans School we are on a bold and deliberate journey - growing, nurturing, and thriving together through evidence-based practice, inclusive culture, and courageous leadership. With 26 classrooms, a flourishing Māori medium pathway, and a deep commitment to equity and excellence, we are seeking an outstanding leader to guide our Kāhu team (Y5) in English medium into its next chapter.

We are looking for a leader who :

  • Has strong proven leadership at the senior level (Y4-6) and classroom expertise in explicit teaching.
  • Understands neurodiversity and has skills, strategies, and knowledge to support learners to thrive.
  • Is passionate about inclusive, trauma-informed, and culturally sustaining practices.
  • Can lead change and inspire kaiako to work together with clarity, structure, and consistency.
  • Brings creative problem-solving and future-focused thinking to shaping the senior experience.
