Are you a strategic thinker with a flair for creating unforgettable experiences?
A new era in vocational education is taking shape in Tāmaki Makaurau. Auckland's public vocational education landscape will be transformed through the unification of Unitec and Manukau Institute of Technology, two respected institutions with over 50 years of service to the region. This change presents a unique opportunity to reimagine vocational learning so it genuinely reflects and serves the aspirations of our diverse communities, industries, and Māori across the region. It's a bold step toward a more equitable and responsive education system, one grounded in partnership, purpose, and place.
In this hands‑on leadership role, you'll guide a talented team, foster a collaborative and inclusive culture, and ensure every event, from graduations to community engagement initiatives, is executed with precision, creativity, and cultural awareness. A key aspect of this role will be bringing together the Events Teams across Tāmaki, aligning different ways of working and building a unified approach to event delivery. You’ll be responsible for developing an annual events calendar, managing logistics, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring health and safety standards are met.
Your project management skills will shine as you oversee timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications, while your financial acumen will help ensure events are delivered efficiently and within scope. You'll also work closely with our Communications and Marketing teams to amplify event visibility and enhance our brand.
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in event management and team leadership, strong stakeholder engagement capabilities, and a genuine passion for education and community impact. If you're ready to lead with purpose and deliver events that inspire, connect, and celebrate, we’d love to hear from you.
You will work with some incredible people who are passionate about the positive impact we make to the communities we serve. We offer a work environment which values genuine people who care for others, are well‑connected, open and approachable and strive for excellence in all we do. We welcome and celebrate diversity and are committed to building a supportive and inclusive environment for all.
