The Role
The Product Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the successful delivery of customer-focused products that align with Generate’s strategic objectives. This position is responsible for overseeing the product lifecycle and ensuring that all product initiatives are informed by customer insights and data. The Product Manager will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that product execution aligns with the company’s strategic direction while providing operational support to ensure timely and high-quality product launches.
Product Strategy Delivery & Execution
- Work with the Head of Product to shape the product strategy that supports Generate’s broader business objectives.
- Convert Generate’s customer and business needs into clear and deliverable work streams from conception to launch. Oversee the end-to-end product lifecycle, from ideation and design through development, testing, and launch, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
- Work closely with teams including engineering, product, marketing, CRM, and distribution to understand business priorities, constraints, and needs, and build consensus on a product roadmap execution plan.
- Act as the voice of the customer throughout the product delivery process, using customer feedback to drive continuous improvement and ensure the final product is user-friendly and intuitive.
- Ensure all product development is customer-centric and results in a simple, intuitive design. Work with the CX / UX Manager to integrate user-centered design principles into the product development process.
- Define and prioritise Generate’s development roadmap to align with product strategy, commercial obligations, and business objectives. This includes establishing key features, timelines, and milestones.
- Oversee the agile lifecycle and related documentation, including the creation of user stories, success metrics, and managing product backlogs.
- Keep a finger on the pulse of Generate’s competition, market segments, and emerging industry trends and technologies. Use this knowledge to inform proactive strategies and tactics that keep Generate competitive.
- Conduct thorough user research to deeply understand the functional, social, and emotional needs of Generate’s customers. Work with the Product Team to ensure products meet and delight customers’ needs.
- Understand why Generate is winning or losing in the market and drive changes to the development process to improve performance.
- Regularly monitor competitors and trends to identify opportunities and potential threats, adjusting product strategy as needed.
Data-Driven Decision Making
Ensure product decisions are backed by robust data, including customer feedback, performance metrics, and competitive insights.Work with the Product Team and stakeholders to establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for each stage of the product lifecycle and analyse these metrics to understand how well the product is tracking.Use strong data literacy skills to analyse tracking and metrics, distill insights, and tell compelling stories through data that guide product improvements and decisions.Know when to rely on data-driven insights and when to complement them with customer research to optimise product outcomes.Cross-Functional Collaboration
Act as a bridge between the Product Team and other departments to ensure product goals are aligned with company objectives and communicated clearly across teams.Continuously engage with internal and external stakeholders to ensure Generate’s product offerings are fit for purpose and meet the company's strategic objectives.Leadership
Act as a leader to the wider business, leading by example in everything you do and consistently role modelling the Generate values and leadership behaviours.Identify resourcing needs to enable business strategy, including the recruitment and onboarding of employees to set them up for high performance.Identify and deliver on opportunities to share your functional knowledge with the wider Generate team to encourage a one team mindset and a culture of cross-functional understanding.About You
Qualifications (or equivalent level of learning)
Bachelor’s Degree : In business, technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience)Experience
7+ years of experience in product management with a strong record of delivering customer-centric products from concept through to launch.Proven experience in developing and executing product strategies that align with business objectives and improve the user experience (UX).Hands-on experience collaborating with software development teams to scope, plan, and deliver new product offerings.Client-facing experience with a strong customer service orientation, ensuring products meet customer needs and drive satisfactionSkills & Knowledge
Product Lifecycle Expertise : Deep understanding of the entire product lifecycle, from ideation to delivery and post-launch optimisation.Agile Methodology : Strong working knowledge of agile software development processes and roles.Customer-Centric Design : Ability to design and deliver intuitive, enjoyable customer experiences that address both functional and emotional user needs.Data-Driven Decision Making : Proficient in using data to define and track key product metrics (KPIs) and inform decisions.Stakeholder Management : Proven ability to build relationships and manage expectations across cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.Documentation : Strong documentation skills to create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.What’s in it for you?
