Role
The Travel Division of the Area Materials Management Department is seeking a Missionary Travel Coordinator based at the Pacific Area Office in Takapuna, Auckland.
This is a full-time, fixed-term role covering a maternity leave from approximately November 2025 to August 2026, reporting to the Missionary Travel Supervisor.
The Missionary Travel Coordinator will represent the Church in interactions with pre-field missionaries, mission offices, MTCs, local government, consulates and immigration offices.
Maintaining professionalism, warm and respectful communication is essential to uphold the Church's reputation within the community.
Responsibilities
Coordinate travel itineraries and guide missionaries, families, and priesthood leaders through the visa application process
Liaise with local government offices and consulates to support visa and travel arrangements
Plan cost-effective travel options and provide clear advice on available options and associated costs
Book travel reservations for flights and accommodation using the Church's online booking tool
Prepare detailed itineraries, including travel restrictions and other relevant information for travellers
Ensure documents are reviewed for accuracy and that visas are obtained in a timely manner
Follow accounting procedures for invoicing, payments, and billing of travel and visa-related transactions
Qualifications
Minimum of 2 years post-secondary education plus 2 years of experience in the travel industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience with Church travel services or in the travel industry is an advantage
Strong customer service skills
Proven ability to organise, prioritise, and solve problems while managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Reliable self-starter who can work independently and collaboratively within a team
Proficient in English, both written and verbal
Demonstrate professional conduct and behaviour
Proficient in MS Office tools and applications
Flexible with work schedule and available for on-call support as needed
