Are you ready to take on a vital coordination role at the heart of a major health sector capital works programme? We’re seeking a Major Capital Construction Coordinator to support one of New Zealand’s largest health organisations during an exciting phase of construction development.
This 6-month assignment, based in Otahuhu , will see you working closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure construction activities are well-coordinated, communicated, and managed—minimising disruption to ongoing healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities :
- Act as the liaison between contractors and hospital services
- Attend regular meetings to gather and share construction updates
- Help develop work methodologies that align with clinical operations and contract requirements
- Coordinate deployment of internal support services (HCAs, RNs, and other staff)
- Work closely with clinical teams to ensure timely commencement of works
- Support project managers with administrative and coordination tasks
- Ensure smooth, timely communication between services and contractors
- Triage and escalate issues affecting operational continuity
- Provide general administration support as required
What We’re Looking For :
A qualification in healthcare and / or constructionExperience working on building sites in NZ, ideally in a supervisory or coordination roleSolid knowledge of capital project management, including critical path analysisAdvanced MS Office skills and ability to quickly learn new systemsExposure to complex project environments within a live healthcare settingUnderstanding of risk management and mitigation strategiesExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to prioritise, multitask and meet tight deadlinesA collaborative, proactive approach to resolving challengesWhy Apply?
